This module aims to introduce students to the world of living organisms and the theory of evolution as a unifying theme. The module highlights the diversity of life by studying major phyla according a classification system based on 3 domains and 5 kingdoms.

To expose students to key actors and processes shaping the economy and society of Brunei Darussalam. The module provides an overview and discussions regarding Brunei’s long term development plans and strategies for economic progress by investing in different sectors of the economy and attracting foreign investors into the country. By the end of this module, students should be able to critically review plans and actions taken by various key actors to develop the economy and society of Brunei Darussalam.

The module aims to provide students with a broad outline of the main political, economic and social developments of Brunei from its establishment as a kingdom to an independent Sultanate in 1984.

This module aims to give a clear understanding about Brunei Darussalam’s history and kingship system. At the end of this module students are expected to be able to explain the concepts of government and kingship; elaborate on the history of 8kingship in Brunei Darussalam; differentiate between Brunei’s system of kingship with other systems around the region; able to write reports relating to Brunei’s kingship system; and analyze contributing factors to the preservation of kingship in Brunei.

This module is to prepare students to analyze foreign policy from a foreign policy perspectives as well as to assess theoretical development in the field. The students are also expected to be able to suggest solutions to global issues and evaluate the policies of different countries.

To introduce students to microeconomic concepts and principles in order to enable them to understand Brunei economy. Students will learn and understand to identify the market system and business organisation; demonstrate an understanding of how markets interact through supply and demand; graphically show how firms respond to changing demands and costs; the consequences of government intervention in the form of price controls; welfare properties of competitive markets; the consequences of monopolies on prices, output and welfare; and microeconomics principles in the Brunei economy.

To provide students with understanding of entrepreneurship frameworks, concepts and models, as well as developing an appreciation of entrepreneurial mindset through practical exercises of entrepreneurial activities.

To develop students understanding on the overall concepts of Islamic banking and finance including the basic prohibitions in Islamic finance, types of contracts, and the implementation of those contracts in the real practice of Islamic banking and finance.

To cover the fundamentals behind Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) within a multidisciplinary context consisting of research; development & innovation; entrepreneurship; and legal perspective. The practical aspects of managing and administering IPR; and important contemporary and emerging issues affecting the IPR system will be included.

Membolehkan pelajar menguasai beberapa kemahiran komunikasi interpersonal yang praktikal dan perlu dimiliki ketika di universiti dan di tempat kerja nanti.
